This design honors the legacy, artistry, and advocacy of Afro sonera Celia Cruz. Celia Cruz traveled around the world educating the world on the culture of Afro Cubans and its deep Yoruba roots. She was part of a group of Latinx that choose to honor and highlight the contributions of Africa / Yoruba people, culture, and religion. Celia Cruz knew how to speak Yoruba and sang many songs in reverence to the Orishas. Additionally, her existence represented the 100,000,000 Africans who exist and existed in the Caribbean and Latin American. She challenges whitewashed Latin American media each time she performed. This shirt is for all of the Negras who are bold, fierce, and proud of their African roots like Celia Cruz.
